The Enoteca Regionale del Barolo is developing “Gusti in Castello”, a project aiming to create a short multi-product chain of the most famous wine production in the Lower Langa area (BAROLO DOCG), together with the most renowned “niche” agri-food production of the province of Cuneo (NOCCIOLA PIEMONTE PGI and CASTELMAGNO DOP), made available to consumers at one of the most important local cultural heritage site, Castello Falletti in Barolo.

The Enoteca is a “place” of Barolo, where you can taste, through an educational tour of an elegant cellar with stone ceilings, more than 30 high-quality labels. But that’s not all: the surrounding area is full of vineyards, hazel groves, pastures, woods and terraces, which offers fruits that have turned this territory into a world heritage and attracts visitors from all over the world to taste its products and enjoy the landscape.

Inaugurated on 5 July 1986, the Enoteca Regionale del Barbaresco works to promote the wine production of the area, currently representing 134 Barbaresco producers. The promotion and enhancement of Barbaresco and its territory, the Enoteca’s main duty, is done through the organization of events, such as “Espressione Barbaresco”, “Barbaresco a Tavola” and “Piacere Barbaresco”, and tastings. At the Enoteca, visitors can purchase locally-produced Barbaresco wines, grappas and gadgets.

Wine, the key factor already promoted by the Enoteca Regionale, is accompanied by the typical products of the area such as hazelnuts, honey, fruits, produce and cereals, processed and preserved in jars: a project called “BARBA-GUSTI”, which contributes in enhancing the products of the supply chain. Showcasing an array of selected local products, together with the historical grape variety, as well as a cultural program to explore the significant places in the area (for example, the Tower of Barbaresco).
The Enoteca manages activities for the promotion and enhancement of Barbaresco and of the territory through the organization of events and tastings, at different times of the year.

The Enoteca Regionale del Roero brings together the main wine producers of Roero, characterized by excellent growth and a developing reputation of the products at an international level. The promotion and enhancement of Roero and of the territory takes place through the organization of events and tastings.

The Enoteca is located in Canale (CN) within the former Asilo Infantile “Regina Margherita”, a 20th-century complex, carefully restored. Upon entering the courtyard, guests are instantly welcomed by the coat of arms of Roero that stands out on the grand wrought iron gate: the motto “A’ bon rendre” (which means “good to go back to”) will immediately put everyone who passes in front of it at ease. The building has a peculiar “U” shape and houses a wine store, the “Roero Turismo” tourist office and the Osteria dell’Enoteca on the ground floor. Guests are mainly offered the wines of the territory for tasting and sale: Roero and Roero Arneis DOCG, Langhe Favorita, Barbera d’Alba, Nebbiolo d’Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, Birbèt, as well as typical products and grappas. The Enoteca is also active in the organization of cultural and promotional events and activities.

The Enoteca Regionale del Roero houses “LA BIBLIOTECA DEI SAPORI DEL ROERO 2.0”, a “local library” that the public can make use of to embark on a journey to discover not only the local products, but also the people and the work put in every day to produce these high-quality products.

The Enoteca Regionale Piemontese Cavour has been operating for years for the enhancement and promotion of local wine production and for the planning and organization of cultural events in the premises of the Grinzane Cavour Castle. The Castle houses the Enoteca Regionale Piemontese “Cavour”, established in 1967, the first to be set up in the Region and the second in all of Italy. It is a prestigious showcase of the best and rigorously selected Piedmontese wines and grappas; first of all, Barolo and Barbaresco. The wines displayed are on sale, together with the most significant products of the area. There are also food and wine publications and screen-printed Barolo wine glasses. Guests can also experience tastings.

The Enoteca has a staff of five people who offer tourists a qualified hospitality service, operative 7 days a week from mid-September to mid-November (high season) from 10:00am to 7:00pm (last admission to the museum at 6:00pm), from April to October (closed on Tuesdays until mid-September) from 10:00am to 6:00pm (last admission to the museum at 5:00pm), from November to March (closed on Tuesdays from mid-November). The Enoteca is closed for the winter break from January 7th to the 2nd weekend of February.

In June 2014, the Castle of Grinzane Cavour received the prestigious UNESCO recognition as a World Heritage Site within the “Wine Landscapes of Langhe-Roero and Monferrato”.
